Fighters for Freedom

Don’t you think God has more in store for you?

Now I don’t mean according to your worth or qualifications. Once Jesus Christ enters our hearts, then worth is no longer an issue at all because being covered by His blood makes us all worthy. And God makes it pretty clear throughout the Bible that He throws qualifications out the window. Besides Jesus, I really can’t think of any soul throughout the Bible that was actually qualified to do whatever Jesus wanted them to do.

Think of those who fight for our country- most can’t just enlist and the next day go fight in a war. They first feel the call or desire on their heart, they make a decision, then others help them to know what to do during the time of battle.

That’s exactly how it works with Jesus. We first feel a desire on our heart for Him, we accept that desire, and then God has things He wants us to go do during our life. But He is our qualification. He is the only element we need to succeed in whatever God brings us to.

So when I ask, don’t you think that God has more in store for you? I mean, if we have already felt the desire on our hearts to become a Christ follower, and we have carried that decision out by having a discussion with our Heavenly Father admitting our sin, then don’t you think there is more to life?

An absolutely mind blowing aspect of our sweet Jesus is that there is always more.

Psalms 23:5b

“My cup overflows with blessings”

That’s a promise and our Father is a Promise Keeper! Our cup is always overflowed with blessings, it really just depends on how many we notice. A blessing from Heaven doesn’t meant a new car or new clothes. Most blessings I’ve noticed in my life are actually callings from Jesus. For example, Show Jesus {a video blog my sweet friend and I used to do once a week} was a HUGE blessing in my life, but it was also something God called me to do. Or when you feel a tug on your heart and you know you need to start giving 10% to the church, but you’re nervous you may not have enough money for other things. But you give 10% anyway and then come into a 100 dollars from your friend who was paying you back for the 100 dollars you completely forgot you loaned them. God provided financially.

{Now that doesn’t mean we do work for the Lord in hopes of getting blessed and glory. Often times, I have to pray for a clear and pure heart so that I don’t subconsciously attempt to steal God’s glory. But thats another blog for another time; hint hint}

All in all, what God has been speaking to me is that a lot of us listen to the lie for the devil that says we aren’t good enough, worthy enough, qualified enough, even funny, pretty, sweet enough. But we don’t have to be enough! Our sweet Jesus is enough. Just like I tried to explain in my “I’m not perfect” blog, thank God we aren’t perfect, because that wouldn’t leave room for Jesus which is the greatest {most perfect} blessing any of us have ever, and will ever receive.

Right now, I want to tell anyone who reads this that- with Jesus- YOU ARE ENOUGH. My heart wants to tell yours that you’re beautiful {Songs of Solomon 4:7}; you’re the righteousness of God {2 Corinthians 5:21}; you’re a light {Matthew 5:14}; you’re called {Pslams 66:8, 2 Timothy 1:9}; you’re strong {Colossians 1:11}; you’re loved {Romans 1:7, Ephesians 2:4, Colossians 3:12, 1 Thessalonians 1:4}; you’re free {Romans 8:2}; you’re holy and blameless {Ephesians 1:4, 1 Peter 1:16}; you’re a new creation {2 Corinthians 4:4}; you’re an overcomer {Revelations 12:11}; you’re a child of God {1 Peter 1:23}

That- and much more- is who we are in Christ. For a person who has all of those attributes and qualities, there has to be missions upon missions that God has entrusted us to achieve while here on this earth. Just like soldiers fights for our freedom and our lives; so do we as Christians fights for the souls of every human being on earth. We battle for the FREEDOM of every person to dwell with Jesus for eternity.

I don’t mean for this to be overwhelming. Because for me, a person with way to much anxiety, I can read that and get pushed down by all that I have to do but am not doing. This isn’t the point of this. The point of this is to help myself and others realize that we have access to a different type of life than nonbelievers have. We have the opportunity to work for an eternal purpose. That eternal purpose is Jesus who brings more joy that is imaginable.

John 15:11

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

This verse comes right after Jesus talks about abiding in Him. He is telling us right there in that moment that none of this is meant to be overwhelming or mean or a list of chores, however, it is to show us that in Him- there is more joy, peace, and freedom that we can ever imagine.

There is more joy that comes from freeing souls from the weight of sin.

Romans 10:14

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”

This is our eternal purpose guys. This is what we live for!!! We live to free this world through Jesus Christ! We live to tell the earth that satan has already been defeated!!

Romans 16:20

“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.”

Luke 10:18

“I saw satan fall like lightening from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

God tells us these things in His word to give us the encouragement to go out and be a disciple and make more disciples in His Great Name. We are called, we have accepted the call, and we have a godly, supernatural power inside of us. We got this. If you aren’t sure what God’s called you to do, go back to John 15 and then start abiding a little more in Jesus Christ. Everyone has a different relationship with our Father and that’s okay. Abiding might look differently for everyone. Blessings might look different for everyone. Callings might look differently for everyone. But it is undeniable that we call all have an abiding relationship with The One who WILL call us to do something towards freeing the souls of those around us.

So now, loved one, don’t you think God has more in store for you?
